In the breathtaking Lomanthang region of the Himalayas in Nepal, the delicate art of gathering cashmere wool from goats unfolds with care and precision. Skilled workers, trained in the nuances of this age-old practice, approach the goats with gentleness, ensuring their well-being while efficiently managing the entire shearing process.
Each year, as the seasons shift, a carefully chosen time arrives for the shearing ritual. Once the goats are sheared, the workers meticulously sort through the fibers, separating the premium cashmere from the coarse hair that falls away.
Our cashmere wool comes in a beautiful palette of colors, ranging from soft off-white to warm light brown and rich dark brown. The prized cashmere is sourced from the goats’ inner coat, where the finer, softer hair resides. During processing, any rough edges and matte fibers are skillfully discarded, allowing only the lustrous, silky strands to shine through. This commitment to quality ensures that our cashmere is not only luxurious but also a true testament to the care and craftsmanship involved in its creation.
Once the cashmere fibers are carefully selected, they are meticulously packaged and transported from the serene region of Lomanthang in Mustang. The journey leads them to our state-of-the-art fiber processing facility located in Godawari, Kathmandu. Here, skilled artisans undertake further processing to transform these luxurious fibers into high-quality yarns, ready for the next stage of production.
