Meet the Visionaries Behind Lomanthang Cashmere

At Lomanthang Cashmere, we believe in more than just luxury—we believe in mindful craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and a deep-rooted connection to Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. Our journey is guided by two visionaries: Andrew John Boniface from Australia and Prakash Bolakhe from Nepal. Together, they have blended their expertise, passion, and shared commitment to sustainability to create a brand that reflects the true essence of 100% Authentic Nepali cashmere.

Founder Director: Andrew John Boniface (Australia)

A pioneer in sustainable luxury, Andrew John Boniface is the visionary behind Lomanthang Cashmere. His dedication to eco-conscious fashion and artisanal craftsmanship has shaped the foundation of the brand. With years of experience in ethical business practices, Andrew’s mission is to bring authentic, high-quality Nepali cashmere to the global market while ensuring a positive impact on local communities. His collaboration with Nepalese artisans, combined with his passion for sustainability, makes Lomanthang Cashmere a brand rooted in both purpose and elegance.

Managing Director & Founder: Prakash Bolakhe Aanada (Nepal)

A guardian of Nepal’s textile heritage, Prakash Bolakhe has devoted his life to preserving and promoting traditional craftsmanship. Coming from a family with generations of expertise in textile creation, Prakash was immersed in the world of handmade Natural fibers from an early age. Inspired by his grandfather’s artisanal skills, he founded Castello Cashmere Industries, specializing in premium handmade natural fiber like cashmere, merino wool, silk, yakwool, cotton etc clothes. His experience working with international partners has given him valuable insights into bridging Nepalese craftsmanship with global markets. Prakash’s leadership extends beyond business—he actively mentors local entrepreneurs and advocates for sustainable fashion.

A Spiritual Partnership Rooted in Purpose

The story of Lomanthang Cashmere began with a profound spiritual connection. Andrew and Prakash first met during Andrew’s spiritual journey to Nepal with Guru Markandeya Das (Mark Herlaar). Their shared belief in ethical business, mindfulness, and social impact led them to collaborate in promoting Nepal’s finest cashmere. Recognizing the beauty and exclusivity of Mustang’s cashmere fibers, they founded Lomanthang Cashmere—a brand dedicated to honoring Nepal’s artisans, preserving traditional techniques, and fostering individual and spiritual growth.

Their mission extends beyond luxury fashion. Lomanthang Cashmere is committed to sustainability, with fibers ethically sourced from Lo Manthang, Mustang, and processing conducted in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur. Their work supports artisan communities and contributes to educational and philanthropic initiatives through the Moral Education Foundation and Guru Markandeya Das Foundation.
