Why Lomanthang Cashmere?
The foundation of our brand was shaped during our founder’s visit to Lomanthang. There, he felt a deep emotional and spiritual connection with the Lobba people, their grounded lifestyle, and the Himalayan goats that define the region.
Cashmere from Lomanthang is highly valued for its exceptional quality. The fibers are remarkably fine typically between 14 and 19 microns resulting in superior softness, warmth, and luxury. Moreover, cashmere weaving here is deeply woven into the cultural identity of Mustang, with skills preserved across generations.
In recent years, sustainable cashmere production has become a focused effort in Lomanthang. Sustainability here means balance between environmental care, ethical treatment of goats, and fair economic practices that uplift local communities.
Thus, Lomanthang Cashmere was born with a clear purpose: to promote local cashmere, preserve heritage, support sustainability, and allow the world to experience Himalayan coziness through thoughtfully designed collections for men, women, and even pets.
A Brand Rooted in Community
Our foundation remains strong because every farmer and artisan is involved with love and simplicity as core values. Professionally, the first fiber collection unit in Lomanthang was established through collaboration between local communities, local government, the Nepal Government, the European Union, the Nepal Pashmina Industries Association (NPIA), and leading pashmina industries of Nepal.
Therefore, Lomanthang Cashmere is more than a fashion brand. It is a conscious, sustainable movement built with deep respect for the people of Lo Manthang and the villages of Mustang, where our journey truly begins.
