Meet the Visionaries Behind Lomanthang Cashmere

Lomanthang Cashmere

The Vision Behind Lomanthang Cashmere

At Lomanthang Cashmere, luxury goes far beyond beautiful garments. Instead, it begins with mindful craftsmanship, ethical sourcing, and a deep respect for Nepal’s cultural and spiritual heritage. From the very start, the brand has been guided by purpose, balance, and sustainability. As a result, every piece of cashmere tells a story of tradition, people, and conscious living.

This meaningful journey is led by two visionaries Andrew John Boniface from Australia and Prakash Bolakhe Aanada from Nepal. Together, they blend global experience with local wisdom to create 100% Authentic Nepali cashmere that honors both artisans and nature.

Founder Director: Andrew John Boniface (Australia)

To begin with, Andrew John Boniface is a pioneer in sustainable luxury and the driving visionary behind Lomanthang Cashmere. With years of experience in ethical business practices, he has consistently championed eco-conscious fashion and responsible production. His approach is simple yet powerful luxury should never come at the cost of people or the planet.

Moreover, Andrew’s close collaboration with Nepalese artisans ensures that traditional techniques are preserved while meeting global quality standards. His mission is clear: to bring high-quality Nepali cashmere to the world while creating long-term, positive impact within local communities.

Managing Director & Founder: Prakash Bolakhe Aanada (Nepal)

Equally important is Prakash Bolakhe Aanada, a true guardian of Nepal’s textile heritage. Coming from a family deeply rooted in traditional craftsmanship, Prakash was immersed in handmade natural fibers from an early age. Naturally, his grandfather’s artisanal skills became a lifelong source of inspiration.

Over time, Prakash founded Castello Cashmere Industries, specializing in premium handmade garments crafted from cashmere, merino wool, silk, yak wool, and cotton. In addition, his experience working with international partners has allowed him to bridge Nepalese craftsmanship with global markets seamlessly.

Beyond business, Prakash actively mentors local entrepreneurs and advocates for sustainable fashion. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to preserving tradition while empowering future generations.

A Spiritual Partnership Rooted in Purpose

Interestingly, the story of Lomanthang Cashmere began with a spiritual connection rather than a commercial plan. Andrew and Prakash first met during Andrew’s spiritual journey to Nepal with Guru Markandeya Das (Mark Herlaar). Through shared values of mindfulness, ethical business, and social responsibility, their partnership naturally evolved.

Inspired by the purity of Mustang’s cashmere fibers, they founded Lomanthang Cashmere to honor artisans, protect ancient techniques, and encourage both individual and spiritual growth. Their philosophy strongly aligns with the principles promoted by the

Global Spiritual Community
, where travel, mindfulness, and purpose intersect.

Sustainability, Community, and Impact

Today, Lomanthang Cashmere remains deeply committed to sustainability. Fibers are ethically sourced from Lo Manthang, Mustang, while processing takes place in Harisiddhi, Lalitpur. This thoughtful approach not only ensures quality but also supports artisan livelihoods.

Furthermore, the brand contributes to educational and philanthropic initiatives through the Moral Education Foundation and the Guru Markandeya Das Foundation. In this way, Lomanthang Cashmere becomes more than a fashion label it becomes a movement rooted in harmony, mindfulness, and conscious luxury.
